We are in China and trying to stay awake. It was a long day plus to get here and trying to figure out the time change is interesting. Our night Tues. started with a very windy and rainy ride to Omaha only to get there and find out our plane in the morning was cancelled! After a long call trying to get an actual person, Tim got our flight rebooked but it was at 6 am vs. 8. That made for a 5 hour lay over in Chicago. Then on to our long flight - a long plane ride that I don't wish on anyone! I was happy to hear once in Chicago that our flight to Beijing was only 13 hours vs. the 18 that I originally thought; not that it was any better but the shorter length was nice. Not being a great flyer, I survived and the long flight was quite smooth - I even looked out the window a time or 2 which is a big step for this scaredy cat of heights! Tim took a picture of the North Pole for the boys - Sorry, Zach, didn't see any polar bears - too hard at 38000 feet! :)
I am still trying to get on Facebook and the blog (I am thankfully posting via a friend's computer who did get through), so pictures will have to wait for now.
God is so good and I am grateful for all that He has provided so far - our guide, Joy, is so patient with all of us and we aren't all here yet! We went to a grocery store this morning to get some snacks and bottled water, then on to the bank to exchange all the money - they must groan when they see all of us Americans walking in the door to exchange!! Tim and I are looking forward to an acrobat show this afternoon.
Will keep trying to get on and post pics soon! Thanks for all the prayers!
Welcome to Kari"s Kafe!
Formerly the PJ Kafe, and Kari's Kafe, I am still going to sell some items on request, but this will be a posting of our journey to get our new daughter, Alexis "Lexi". I have been sewing for almost 25 years and making clothes for kids and infants is my favorite. I created this site for us to raise money for our upcoming China adoption. I guess you could say that I needed something to keep me busy while we wait! :-)
You can click on the sidebar to browse our "Menu" of dresses, pajamas, and blankets. Feel free to email me with your questions, comments, or order and I will be happy to help you ~ I want you to be pleased with your order! Keep your eyes open for possibly more items to come as the seasons change.......
