Tick tock, tick tock

Wow, I can't believe how time is flying! We are less than a week away from flying out to China! We fly to Beijing on the 7th and return home on the 22nd of April. My mom is staying with the boys and they are really looking forward to it! (I don't know if it's looking forward to Grandma coming or getting rid of the parents for awhile :{ )

Everyone tells us to pack light - how do you do that when traveling to 3 different cities with 3 different temperatures? I am sure I will pack too much -I always want to be prepared for anything! Tim and I are trying to get all our stuff together as well as pack for Alexis. This is a bit difficult to pack for a little girl we've never seen and have measurements that are 3 months old. For those of you who've asked, she's about a 12 month size (weight about 18-20lbs. and height around 22"). Thanks to the advice of our wonderful friends that have traveled, we are prepared to shop tons in China as they say stuff is quite inexpensive there.

Our Itinerary arrived Tues. and we are excited to announce that Gotcha Day should be April 12, barring any unforeseen circumstances! It is comforting to know what we are doing almost each day and that they have a free day in Chengdu planned. I am most thrilled that we will be going to see the Panda Research and Development Center for a day. I have loved pandas for years and can't wait to see one up close! I may have the opportunity to hold one if it works out. A dream come true: holding a fuzzy little panda and getting a new daughter all in one trip!

We/I will try to update the blog on our journey through China - keep checking for posts and pictures!

Some of you have asked about sending gifts/donations/contributions for our adoption and they may be directed to our church - New Hope Evangelical Free Church, 718 Florida Ave SW, IA 51041; Attn Ringelberg adoption.

Thanks for reading!

Yay! So happy for you! We just got home from China with our 2nd little one.

Welcome to Kari"s Kafe!

Formerly the PJ Kafe, and Kari's Kafe, I am still going to sell some items on request, but this will be a posting of our journey to get our new daughter, Alexis "Lexi". I have been sewing for almost 25 years and making clothes for kids and infants is my favorite. I created this site for us to raise money for our upcoming China adoption. I guess you could say that I needed something to keep me busy while we wait! :-)
You can click on the sidebar to browse our "Menu" of dresses, pajamas, and blankets. Feel free to email me with your questions, comments, or order and I will be happy to help you ~ I want you to be pleased with your order! Keep your eyes open for possibly more items to come as the seasons change.......
